Every day was just the same, I had no face, I had no name, Couldn't tell no right from wrong, until one day you came along. I like, I like, I like, I like, the way you move, the way you smile. I like, I like, I like, I like, the way you are to me, the way you are to me... You had the charm, you had the look, one smile from you is all it took. Head over heels I lost my mind, 'cause to me you are one of a kind! I like, I like, I like, I like, the way you move, the way you smile. I like, I like, I like, I like, the way you are to me, the way you are to me...

Here's a song I wrote, I wrote it just for you, 'cause you're in everything I do. Sunshine's on my mind, you got me feeling fine, I wanna be just by your side. Walking down that, Walking down that road. Walking down that, Walking down that road. Sitting here alone, you've been gone too long, But your smell lingers on my skin. Memories flood my mind, they touch me sweet and kind, I'm on a magic carpet ride. Walking down that, Walking down that road. Walking down that, Walking down that road. One last chance to state my case, this is more than just a phase, just believe and close your eyes. Walking down that, Walking down that road. Walking down that, Walking down that road.

I remember, I knew right from the start, The day you would leave, it’ll rain inside my heart, Oh so afraid, that you would fade away… Yet so careless, I got caught up in little lies, Absent minded, while I looked into your eyes, And still I knew, you are all I need… Now I cry myself to sleep, And wish that I had the love you can give… And it hurts so bad, every day, every night, every time that I wake alone in my bed; And I try every day, every night, every moment I breathe not to stop to believe that maybe some day you will come back to stay. Looking back, I see the sadness in your eyes, Over time we’ve built way too many alibis, Eventually, I came to realize… That I’ll cry myself to sleep, And wish that I had the love you can give. And it hurts so bad, every day, every night, every time that I wake alone in my bed; And I try every day, every night, every moment I breathe not to stop to believe that maybe some day you will come back to stay. All I taste is stale, all I feel is void, All I see is dark, and my heart's gone cold. Why did you go? I love you so... And it hurts so bad, every day, every night, every time that I wake alone in my bed; And I try every day, every night, every moment I breathe not to stop to believe that maybe some day you will come back to stay.

In the situation room where truth is being said, I heard a prophet see the light and his assistant lay an egg, Nobody was bothered, no one pulled a face, The eeriness of meaning in evolution's race. Each day as the world turns 'round, I just stand there and I watch the crowd, And at night as the moon comes out, I will still be here and wonder what it's all about, I live... and learn... When something leads to nothing but interest always pays, The glory of your word is just right there in your face, No reason there to rhyme and no rhyme to tell you why, Just a smothering epiphany that looms above your eye. Each day as the world turns 'round, I just stand there and I watch the crowd, And at night as the moon comes out, I will still be here and wonder what it's all about, I live... and learn... So won't you please just tell me what to do, 'cause each day that I'm around I am getting more confused, All I wanna know is the underlying truth, 'cause tomorrow I'm afraid it's too late... it's too late. Who will take you home when daylight finally comes, Does it matter? Darkness can be fun, The heart is racing cycles, the mind-traps are all set, The audience is waiting let the brokers make their bets. Each day as the world turns 'round, I just stand there and I watch the crowd, And at night as the moon comes out, I will still be here and wonder what it's all about, I live... and learn...

about

NOW AVAILABLE FOR "NAME YOUR PRICE"!

'Live & Learn' is Tom's solo debut. It features his now signature style on guitar, using and mixing regular fingerpicking with tapping and percussion on the instrument to make it sound like an entire band. In the studio, together with producer Robin Gillard, the goal was to record the songs as closely to the live sound as possible. Only minimal overdubs were used at some points, but predominantly 'what you see is what you get' remains Tom's motto.

about

Tom Strasser Austria

Tom's style is best described as rather unique acoustic guitar playing to support his songwriting. He swiftly combines fingerstyle with tapping and percussion on the instrument to create a dense sound-scape, trying to make a single guitar resonate like an entire band. His influences are ranging from funk, blues and rock to streaks of jazz while he tries to keep an open mind and ear to all styles. ... more
